About Urban Carry Info

Urban Carry Info is a practical guide to concealed carry for people who live and work in cities. Carrying in a city is its own animal: laws that change every few blocks, transit rules, office dress codes, and the never-ending job of keeping a handgun hidden under regular clothes. That's what we cover.

Stay discreet. Stay ready. Stay legal.

Sammie, founder of Urban Carry Info

Meet the founder

I'm Sammie. I live in the Baltimore area, and I've been carrying for a few years. A friend got me into it, and most of what I know about grip, aim, and zeroing a red dot came from time on the range. I hold a Maryland Wear and Carry Permit after finishing the state's HQL course and the 16-hour Wear and Carry course. Before this site, I drove trucks for a living.

When I started carrying, I couldn't find straight answers. Could I carry on the light rail? Did my permit work in DC? What was I supposed to do with the gun when I couldn't bring it inside? So I started digging into the actual laws, and Urban Carry Info is the result.

How we research

Every carry law guide links to the statute, bill, or court ruling behind it, and shows when it was last checked. When a law changes, we update the page and the date. If we can't verify something, we say so instead of guessing. Found a mistake? Tell us and we'll fix it.

How we make money

Some gear pages include affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Every one is disclosed on the page, and it never changes what we recommend.

Everything here is general information, not legal advice. Laws change, so check the official sources we link before you rely on anything.

There's no single right way to carry in the city. Find the setup that fits your body, your wardrobe, and your day.
